Casey House Welcome

Our sponsors are at the forefront of those who provide exceptional support to Casey House. We are delighted to recognize TD Waterhouse and their eight years of support for Art with Heart. This year, we thank TD Waterhouse for stepping into their new role as our Presenting Sponsor. Concord CityPlace has once again sponsored the Gallery of Patrons Limited Edition. This year’s edition was created by renowned artist Attila Richard Lukacs. Urbacon has sponsored the June Callwood Artist’s Multiple, produced by the art collective BGL. We welcome back The Globe and Mail as our Presenting Print Sponsor and welcome Classical 96.3 FM as our Presenting Radio Sponsor. This year, In the Studio is sponsored by Epic Reality and CBRE. GE Monogram is the sponsor of Art and Beyond. And of course, thank you to The Carlu for welcoming us back tonight and to Ritchies Auctioneers for conducting tonight’s auction and hosting the previews.

As a special commemoration of our 20th anniversary, we are delighted that Colliers International is presenting an extraordinary quilt, lovingly hand stitched by dear friends and volunteers. The Quilt evokes the spirit of the memorial quilts which hang on the walls of Casey House honouring the lives of those we have lost and will not forget. We have also benefited from the talented design team at Hambly & Woolley Inc., who in addition to designing all of the Art with Heart’s print materials, also contributed design elements to The Quilt.

None of this would be possible without our Honorary Chair Matthew Teitelbaum and our inexhaustible Co-Chairs Mary Dawn Thomson and Guy Knowles. Our curatorial Co-Chairs Wil Kucey and Bill Clarke have again ensured that Art with Heart remains an occasion to celebrate the power of art to inspire us to make the world a more compassionate place.

By being here tonight to enjoy these exceptional examples of Canadian contemporary art, you are helping us deliver on our mission to “provide exemplary treatment, support and palliative care for people affected by HIV/AIDS”. On behalf of all of us at Casey House, thank you for supporting Art with Heart and believing so passionately in what we do.

Sincerely,

Sandra Cruickshanks
