Casey House Volunteer QuiltersThe Heart of Casey House The Quilters: Estimate: $2,000 |
The Casey House Volunteer Quilters are a team of dedicated volunteers, some of whom have been making the Casey House quilts for nearly two decades, who lovingly piece together the Casey House memorial quilts. Each year, they conceive a different design, and individually and together the quilts are a textile monument to the irreplaceable lives stolen from us by HIV/AIDS. Each year we hope it will be the last, yet the stitches continue. This year, in commemoration of the Casey House 20th anniversary, the volunteer quilters have stitched this year's unique textile art piece. With its reference to the ancient Celtic and Chinese love-knot motifs, this collaborative work of art is a testament to love that knows no bounds, a fitting representation of the compassion that is at the heart of all that we do at Casey House. |
