Art of the Barrel

Linking the worlds of contemporary art and the art of fine winemaking in support of two great organizations.

Art of the Barrel Art of the Barrel is an innovative and collaborative fundraising venture benefiting the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) and Casey House. Proceeds for Casey House raised through Art of the Barrel directly support the Emerging Artists Collection of Art with Heart.

Mark S. Bonham, a leading supporter of Casey House and the former owner of Stoney Ridge Estate Winery, is the driver behind this novel initiative. Bonham has donated the oak wine barrels for transformation into contemporary works of art by competing students at OCAD.

By joining this event as a sponsor, you'll gain access to ownership of one of these unique pieces of contemporary art. For more information, please contact David Gilmer at 416-962-4040 x230 or by email.

ABOUT THE BARREL ART
Creating the first barrel prototype is internationally renowned Canadian artist John Scott, an alumnus and instructor at OCAD. Scott has been at the forefront of Canadian contemporary art for nearly two decades and his work is much sought after by museums and galleries across the country. Scott has also donated one of his sought after works to this year's Art with Heart collection.

Talented fourth year students from OCAD will compete to reinvent the barrels and transform them into collectable contemporary works of art. Each student will be sponsored by an art patron or corporate sponsor who, in turn, will be able to display the completed barrel art to promote their business and demonstrate their community support for vital healthcare, education and cultural programs.

Call David Gilmer now to discuss this exciting opportunity: 416-962-4040 x230.
