Artist Statement

This painting is of a young man lost in a task or a thought, unaware of the viewer’s gaze. It represents what I do because of the abstract and figurative quality that it embodies, and while appearing more abstract than figurative, still captures the presence of a person, and the intensity with which he is engaged with something of which we can never know.
