Artist StatementMalcolm Rains studied architecture before becoming a sculptor, moving to painting shortly thereafter as a means of exploring subtle expressions of volume. Rains’ subjects are minimal; horizons of lakes and fruit, flowers or crumpled sheets of white paper floating on a dark background. Malcolm Rains was born in England and have lived in Canada since 1955. |
